This summer, my wife and I decided to take a trip to Vegas. Neither of us had been, and I had been dying to see the Grand Canyon. Anyway, we stayed at the Residence Inn right across from the Vegas Convention Center. It was reasonably priced, and rather comfy. We did have one little mix-up though. The rooms were covered by my parents, as a gift. When we got to the hotel, they asked us for a credit card, in case of incidentals. Fine… We’re not the type to trash a hotel anyway. Like mentioned before, the stay was great and we made a little money (which was spent on dinner and alcohol, of course).
A few days after our trip, my wife checks her account balance and notices an unexpected $350 charge and a slue of overdraft fees following. The hotel seemingly charged our card (the one that was supposed to be used for incidentals ONLY) without notice. YAY! I love paying for overdraft fees!!!!
I called the hotel and told them about the situation, I scanned and emailed all of the information (including the paper that had the CORRECT credit card number on it) in order to get the charge reversed. The guy on the phone told me they “didn’t get the second paper originally”. LIES! They were faxed over, and the “Mysterious missing page” had the fax number on the back. On top of that, my mother called and spoke with someone at the hotel to confirm the reservations and the purchasing information.
So, we called the bank and found out that, as a “courtesy”, they cover ONE overdraft fee that has been assessed due to a wrongful charge. That’s not exactly the best return in the world, but I’ll take it. The bank did inform us that the merchant should be held responsible for the overdraft fees that were assessed. I have contacted the hotel, but it’s been a few days with little, to no response. I’ll be sure to update if there is any progression. The wife is convinced that we won’t be seeing our money back. I wouldn’t be too concerned if it were one — maybe even two overdraft fees, but $200 worth is just a little bit of a bigger bite than I can chew.

For any of you who come back to read my humble blog from time to time, I’m sure you remember my Comcast ordeal. After dealing with the whole experience [and having Mr. Frank Eliason come to my e-rescue], It gave my buddy Tony and me some fodder for a strip over at our comic - failedobjective.com.

Yeah. So, I’m not much on the regular updates. As it happens, I actually have a valid reason for that lately. I’ve been devoting a good deal of my “free” time to working on a new web site with a friend of mine. I’ll pretty much be forced to contribute to regular updates on the new site or he’ll threaten me with bodily harm.
Our new site is Failed Objective and launches 6/2. All that’s there now is the threat of our launch. Make sure you’re there on the second to see what we’ve been working on.

RedsailUSA.com is the home for the distributors for Redsail Lasers in the United States. They offer reliable systems at a significant savings. Redsail Technical Co. Ltd brings you a variety of products ranging from Desktop models to large commercial and industrial systems.
I’ve worked with a lot of lasers myself. These machines work well and are offered at extremely low prices. The cool thing is that you have an American Company to deal with for technical support. If anything were to ever go wrong, it doesn’t have to be shipped overseas for repair. You also save a little money on the initial shipping cost. Lasers are cool!

Well, sorry to anyone, (like myself), who was looking forward to the release of Home for the PS3. It has now been pushed back to autumn of this year. I can’t say I’m completely surprised.
Here’s a small snippet from Reuters:
Sony, locked in a three-way battle with Microsoft Corp and Nintendo Co Ltd in the global game industry, said it was delaying the launch to improve product quality, the same reason it cited for the first delay.
“We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer,” Sony Computer Entertainment Chief Executive Kazuo Hirai said in a statement.
“But we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today.”
Offering an innovative online service is important for the PS3, which has been running behind Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in total unit sales.
Hey Sony, If you want to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience, you may want to release more games closer to their anticipated release dates . Just a thought. Of course, Sony is Notorious for the despised “pushback”.
Hey, maybe LittleBigPlannet and Home will come bundled together! I mean, they have so much in common. Both are highly anticipated and have been delayed more than a year now. Wishful thinking? Yes indeed.

One of the latest sites that has been keeping me busy is scrapbookdiecutter.com. This site has a full online store, catering to the crafting and scrapbooking industry. I’ve also been introducing new “how to” videos to the site and showcasing some new products for purchase. If you are, at all, interested in crafing, scrapbooking, model making or just like cool computer gadgets and materials, this site is definitely worth the look. Also, any questions about the products or machines you may have, I’d be more than happy to answer them for ya!
